naturaSign Pad Light

The naturaSign Pad Light, featuring an LCD screen and a USB port, is the current top of the range product, for mobile usage, it was developed and produced by StepOver in Germany. It achieves much comfort and maximum security in the registration of handwritten electronic signatures.

The well-proven features

The naturaSign Pad Light is provided with a lateral holder for secure storage of the pen during transport, as well as a vertical POS holder for when the pad is in use. The pen (naturaPen) is held on a chord. Thanks to the innovative material it is made from, the pen is extremely abrasion resistant, also protecting the sensor from scratches. The material used in naturaPen is also 100% safe.

Data transmission takes place using the secure, acknowledged encryption algorithm AES 256 with authorisation (i.e. each signature device has its own encryption key).

User interaction by touching symbols or display texts can be easily implemented. The signature data is acquired with the pad are time stamped in GMT with an integrated, tamper-proof real time clock. Each naturaSign Pad has its own hardware-ID (serial number), which allows every signature to be mapped to a specific signature pad.

The signature data is acquired in the signature pad, encrypted and transmitted together with the hardware-ID and the time stamp. It is ideally suited to be used in the automatic verification of acquired biometric data due to its exceptionally high resolution. This signature pad has everything you will ever need.

New system to ensure highest security on the market

Each naturaSign Pad Light is provided with a unique certificate for the digital signing process (2048 bit RSA private key), with which the internal signature creation unit signs the document in a completely safe way. Furthermore, with this certificate the person examining the signed document can precisely assign the signature to a specific signature pad.

Apart from this, the processor of the signature pad contains a public key of a second key pair (RSA 2048 bit), generated by a notary public. By means of this key, the biometric data is already encrypted in the pad. This way, highly sensitive information can never be found in decrypted format in the unsafe “computer” environment (e.g. working space). The private key of this second key pair is safely deposited by the notary public.

The unique safety concept of this StepOver signature pad offers the user the highest possible proof security, since it is the only way they can provably claim they never used the biometric data of the signature for purposes other than intended (e.g. by intercepting and copying the data to another document).

This StepOver GmbH signature pad has been validated by independent court-authorised handwriting experts.

With a height of just 1 cm (0.39 inch), the naturaSign Pad Light is currently one of the thinnest LCD sign pads on the global market.

Thanks to its flat design, displaced sensor range with underlying display and on-screen “rotate button”, which enables the rotation by 180º of the signature pad and the hand support, for the first time both right- and left-handed people can adopt an optimal writing position, similar to that of a paper pad.

The integrated monochrome display (LCD) shows the signature in real time and can be used to insert text, graphics, document extracts and interactive buttons.

On the back, the signature device contains two screw holes for table and wall mounting; mounting accessories are available separately. It is ideally suited to for use in the automatic verification of acquired biometric data due to its exceptionally high resolution.

Thanks to the “Encrypted HID Standard”, driver installation is not required for W2000, XP, Vista, Linux and MAC OSX. The internal real-time clock provides each transmitted signature with a GMT time/date stamp from the internal, tamper-proof clock. In addition to the display, the status LED indicates the operation mode (Off/No connection, Orange/Stand-by, Green/Signature recording).

This is a CO₂-neutral product. The use of a signature pad saves thousands of sheets of paper. Moreover, in cooperation with the German non-profit association PrimaKlima Weltweit e.V., 10 m² new trees are planted for each StepOver signature pad sold. The materials used are suitable for recycling, e.g. the old signature pad casing can be reused later for a new product.

The signature recording devices of the naturaSign Pad Light series come as standard, with a practical protective case for transport and travel (the protective case is included in the list price). The case is made of high-quality recyclable plastic (polyamide) material and was especially developed to meet the high demands of intensive use in the most testing conditions. The protective case contains space for the signature device and the required USB connecting cable. In contrast to the soft textile cases that are commonly used, the protective case, with particular regard to the thickness, takes up little space in a suitcase, etc. For project use, the signature pad can also be offered without the protective case or, alternatively, with a textile case.
