The collaboration with PrimaKlima- weltweit- e.V. pays off
Since 2007, StepOver GmbH has been the only company in its sector who donates a fixed sum to PrimaKlima- weltweit- e.V. for every signature pad that is sold. With the help of donations, the non-profit organisation does work for worldwide reforestation. Their aims are: on the one hand to help people who live in areas affected by ground erosion so they can preserve their food and natural supplies; on the other hand, where possible, to curb the effect of the most damaging element to the climate, carbon dioxide (CO2).
Due to this exceptional agreement, the company from Stuttgart who are specialists in solutions for the electronic signature have, until now, donated trees that cover a total of approximately 70 hectares. That is the surface area of around 100 football pitches. At present, the amounts donated by StepOver go towards reforestation projects in the Congo, Argentina and Malaysia. Olaf Staudt, the Executive Director (CEO) of StepOver GmbH explains the benefits of this cooperation. “Our clients contribute to the environment in two ways with each purchase of a signature pad. On the one hand, with the use of our hardware and software for the written electronic signature, they save a total of around 650 tonnes of paper annually. This way they avoid the deforestation that comes with paper production. On the other hand, they are planting some ten metres squared of new trees with each recently acquired signature pad.â€
The continuous cooperation with PRIMAKLINA is really worth it: Up until now, the total surface area of repopulated forests made possible by the money donated by StepOver, is capable of eliminating more than 680 tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere each year and is returned to our climate as harmless. Furthermore, thanks to its donations, the company can proudly declare that it works neutrally with regards to CO2 use.
